cacti for the soul

So for those of you who didn't know, our office pet Wally (a giant silver goldfish) died last Monday :( I was pretty shook up, not only because he was such a cutie but I was also the one to discover him first thing in the morning after the office had been closed for two days. Need I say more? I didn't think so. Anyhow, my desk and I have been feeling extra lonely the past few days so I took a trip to Lowe's during my lunch hour and picked up a couple of plants to bring some life back into this dreary place. The sea of flowers that greeted me was such a mood-booster all on its own!
Even though the flowers looked beautiful, I opted for these two pretties. I absolutely love cacti! All the color and none of the fuss. Seriously, the only thing green about my thumb is my nail polish. I popped them into cute $1 pots I found at Target and haven't given the empty fish tank behind me a longing look since! They're no Wally, but they're doing just what I intended them to. If you have an office or workstation that seems to be lacking life, I definitely recommend adding some greenery!
